For one, we are not owned by Monsanto, or Bayer, or anyone else. We are a family owned business operated by a group of family members, friends, and colleagues. Half of us go back to childhood. We celebrate every birthday, have pizza together every Thursday, and have about as much fun on the job as possible at a world-class scientific institution. We have absolutely no intention of handing over ownership and have never had outside financial backing. After a recent meeting with an unnamed Canadian cannabis mega-conglomerate that involved a possible buy out, Seth gave the crew assurance by saying - "Well we already have the t-shirts made, so we can't sell out now!"
Second, our seeds are non-GMO. While we do utilize the latest technology to analyze and map the cannabis genome, we use this data to help better our genetics through selective breeding. Good old fashioned pollen chucking is a thing of the past and we have worked hard to make it that way. Knowing exactly what we are looking for when selecting the plants that we breed with is imperative. Much of what we gather will make its way into the public sphere meaning a greater understanding of cannabis for all.
