Farmers of trimmed flower are cognizant of market pressure and consumers' desire for new flavors. As flower lovers ourselves, we get it: one of life's most rewarding joys is encountering novel olfactory presentations, squeezing the flower, and smiling at the excitement of sharing the results with the world. There is a deep sense of satisfaction and anticipation whenever we find one of these gems, knowing full well that, in due time, talented farmers will coax these same oil profiles from the soil and change a person's life for the better. And the smiles are real with our new sour lines. By isolating the first terpinolene dominant CBD variety and combining it with our classic production mothers, we were able to create new, early flowering hybrids with different, outrageous noses. Reviewers are raving about the nuanced flavor and olfactory intensity of the flowers produced by caring farms. We also received information from some of these farmers who encountered density issues with portions of their 2020 sour crops.

The goal of any breeding program should be constant improvement, especially in an era of rapid change brought about by genomic insights. To that end, we rebuilt our sour pollen donor line from the ground up for 2021 to ensure that the flower structure of the sour hybrids is consistent, trimmable, and high yielding. Sequencing efforts reveal that this new donor is one of the most inbred lines we have created.
